Hi I'm Jodie. and no you are not seeing double, although I do strike a close resemblance to another husky girl named Alannah. Like her I would love to have a home of my own too. I am pure breed Husky and any new forever humans need to know how to handle a girl like me. Sadly I was abandoned and found wandering the streets. I don't know why I was left out there, I've very loving, sweet friendly and energetic! Here's some more pics of me: Please check out my Facebook albumBefore emailing the rescue please make sure you have read lorasluck.proboards.com/thread/3/welcome-lora-luck-rescue-scrollIf you feel like I can be the girl for you then please email the rescue: lorasqueries@outlook.com during the opening hours Mon, Thur, Fri and Sat between 12pm to 12am.

No you’re not seeing double, our lovely Alannah DID go home… This girl has a paler face than Alannah but ALLL the floof!
This sweetie is just one of thousands of huskies dumped every year in all across Eastern Europe (she’s in Serbia) now they are going out of fashion… 😡😡😡there are quite a few we could help, but we don’t have the funds, so we had to make a choice, and we chose this fluffy delight!
She’s around 4-5 years old, around 22 kg, happy really loving girl, she was rescued after being abandoned in the street and was found wandering with another dog our rescuer had had a report on so they both were saved 🐕💜🐕💜The dog with her was little and cute and fluffy so of course was snapped up but this poor girl is victim of the slowly dying ‘fashion’ in Serbia for huskies when they have no idea how to care for them and haven’t researched the breed so they end up unchain outside or in the street or in the public shelters. She has been with the foster two years without a single query so we have stepped in to see if we can find her a home in the UK!
She is a pure breed Husky and will be registered as such in the UK but we have no pedigree certificate and she is spayed. People experienced with both rescue dogs and Huskies ONLY needed for this lovely girl!
She is the low end of medium size. weight update: approx 22kg Age: 4-5 years ( DOB TBC) Kids test: available, resident 👪 Cats: available, resident 🐈 (also chickens)🐔 Other dogs test: yes 🐕 Humans (male and female)? YES 👨👩 Temperament: happy, sweet, energetic and friendly Spay: done DP test: done, negative first vaccines: DONE flea worm and tick treatment: done monthly booster: DONE Rabies: will be done again before titre test Titre test: needs to be done 3 months before travel by law At each vet check, we will update (with date of update) this listing.
LIFESTYLE, TEMPERAMENT and SKILLS
YAYs! (Her special skills/ stuff she likes)
Other dogs? ✅✅ ✅ YES 🐕YES🐕 YES🐕 ✅✅ ✅ likes all, no matter what size, boys and girls… so we’d love for her to have a playful chilled/confident buddy to learn how to dog in a real home from 💜 or at the least the chance to meet buddies for socialising and patience as she settles in and learn the ropes Cats test: ✅ ✅ ✅ yes we can can test- just ask for video 🐈 she’s also met chickens 🐔 (we will need the same proof from you your cats/birds are ok with dogs) Sleeps (at night): ✅ ✅ ✅ she’s still in a small rescue kennels so sadly has no fire to sit by… but the kennels are lovely, fully under cover, very clean, and heated. Walks on lead ✅ ✅ ✅ (she loves walking round the farm and in the play park and prefers no lead so secure field walks may be the way to start with her) Likes a blanket? ✅✅ ✅ Treats? ✅✅ ✅ Yes, loves a treat which could be useful for training Ok around food? ✅✅ ✅ No food issues at all, happy to have his dinner with other doggies Humans (male and female)? ✅✅✅ yes 👨👩 Kids? ✅✅ ✅ yes- resident- if older/very used to dogs and let her come to them only when she’s ready- so older12+ / calmer children 8+ (the youngest we usually advise but exceptions can be made for VERY experienced people) resident who are very dog savvy and know to give a dog time to come over and engage rather than go over to her though she tends to be very quick to come over 👪 you must resist this! She could fear bond. We will need video proof of your dog(s) being good with kids too if your have resident dog(s), and the other way round. Friendly when she first meets you ✅✅✅ YES but you should still give every dog time to come over to you and not bug them, especially if they’ve gone in their bed Affectionate? ✅✅ ✅ YES but you must give her time to settle when she arrives and not overload with fuss, even when she does come over, and she will! Being picked up? ✅✅ ✅ yes if done sensibly Recalls offlead ✅✅ to her name yes, but you will need to show her your way of doing recall and learn how she does it
HMMMs (will likely take time)
Knows sit and wait 🟨 she’ll need to relearn this in English, she does know some English words Toilet trained 🟨 while she is a clean girl she does still live in a kennel environment so training will be needed. She’s a smart girl though, so should soon pick it up! Being brushed? 🟨 yes but you will be new to her, but introduced carefully, this could be a great way to gently start the bonding process Harness/collar 🟨 she’s not worn them often so gentle reintroductions will be needed as it’s UK law for a dog to have a collar on in public and a harness on during transport (or a travel crate but we advise against these.) Plays with toys 🟨 she can currently take or leave them but we’re sure she’d be happy to learn when she has her own! Likes a bed? 🟨 yes but she’s only got a basic one- her kennel space is shared and she has her own kennel and bed with blankets . But they do like luxuries once they encounter them so she’s likely to be upside down in a comfy bed by the time she decompresses! Car 🟨 not had much experience
NOPEs (and things he doesn’t do/we don’t know yet)
Chews or digs? ❌ only if she’s bored, and will need help learning how to use all sorts of toys, and training must be done to ensure this continues at home. She will not know what is ok and what is not ok to investigate Separation anxiety ❌ NONE but she’s in a kennel. You will need to decompress her properly when she arrives so that she does not develop it Likes a bath? ❌ not sure, can ask Likes water (swimming etc)? ❌ we can ask if she’s seen any water (lakes, rivers etc) So as you can see she’s a real sweetheart, and we think would settle into a variety of forever home situations with gentleness and patience. More on this below!
NEEDS ALL new dogs are stressed when they go somewhere new especially without their carer, so even if she seems ok (and she’s the kind of dog to ‘fake’ being happy and excited to hide her fear- for her stressed face please look at the early pics when she was first saved from the street 🙁 ), she like ALL dogs will need time to settle/decompress. Full live support will of course be provided by our team 🙂 but to keep any stress levels she has to a minimum, we are trying to find a place as similar to what she has now or at least a set up that would suit her character.
She is likely to want to get fuss way before she’s settled, or want reassurance while she processes and understands the new situation she is in, she’s a sweet, friendly, playful and loving girl, smart and sassy too like a typical Husky, so we hope she would not take too long to decompress with the right guidance from her new humans (note with many dogs this can be three months and more.) Don’t overload her with fuss! She MUST be given quiet time and the chance to take herself off to a bed ‘safe space’- somewhere quieter for him to chill in, (no kennels or crates in or outside, she has had quite enough of that in her life, and will have had to be created by law on her Happy Bus trip to the UK) in her bed that’s not where people pass through all the time (like a corner space or similar).
She would benefit from a dog of any nature age or size in the home if the dog would like a buddy too as Huskies can be quite full on, to play and walk with (resident dog can be mellow/happy/playful/bouncy etc) to show her the house rules. Or regular buddies to hang out with inside and out. She likes the dogs where she lives (sensible introductions to new dogs must be done), she LOVES a getting out and about on walk through the shelter/gardens offlead, in the enclosed play park, and getting attention.
We know Jodie would LOVE a walk every day once she’s used to walks and recall in the new home (which could take time, as she will need to decompress). So an in home buddy is preferred but we will consider solo dog homes if walked and socialised with other dogs and humans regularly under old and new Animal Welfare rules.
Do you live by some cool woods/fields/parks (she can live somewhere semi urban as you can hear the road from the shelter) and have a Jodie shaped space in your home?
She’s used to a high fence and enclosed yard area and we’d like this to continue in her home. So secure non shared gardens only sorry for toilet/recall training. She is not left outside unattended but of course shares a kennel overnight. She does not know stairs so a house + garden set up would be best for her. If a flat it must be of a good size, preferably ground floor (but will accept first floor) and you must be experienced with introducing dogs to your home (stairs/lifts/communal areas), and have access to somewhere on site preferably but close by across as few roads as possible for toilet and recall training that is safe and secure- with her breed mix we won’t adopt to someone in a small flat who’s not had a Husky before - they are high activity animals, can be stubborn, and cannot sit in a small flat all day. No balcony toilet training. Adopters would be responsible for teaching her good meeting any new and/or smaller humans rules, where the loo is in your home, how walks go in your home and how to engage with and play with humans and dogs the way you do it in your home. We are looking for low to medium human activity in the home if possible (please introduce your dog carefully to your routine especially if it’s complicated or prone to a lot of changes like shift work), but a home that likes to get out and about on walks 🤗
